    Essential oils from Agarwood can be extracted by several methods which include hydrodistillation (typically using water or steam). Country of origin : India Botanical Name: Aquilaria agallocha Processing Method: Steam distillation Plant Part: Trees Odor and Color: Thick and resinous with a deep shade of brown, intense aroma. Main Constituents: a-agarofuran, 4-phenyl-2-butanone, furfural and benzaldehyde. Contraindication: Agarwood oil is considered safe to use in moderation, both topically and internally. However, it is always best to do a patch test before applying it extensively to the skin. Undiluted Agarwood oil may cause sensitization. It should be diluted sufficiently with a suitable carrier oil. Lengthy exposure to Agarwood fumes may induce drowsiness and encourage unwanted sleep. Do not inhale it if you are about to drive or operate machinery. Agarwood is not recommended for children under six years old, and should only be administered sparingly to older kids. Pregnant or nursing women are advised to consult a medical practitioner before using Agarwood oil, or any of its blends.
