Bulgaria Organic Lavender Oil has one of the highest quality lavenders of this strain are grown at high altitudes (in excess of 3,000 feet elevation), and the differentiator from other strains is that there is almost no camphor content. This lends the variety a sweeter, more floral scent. The most prominent chemical constituents in lavandula angustifolia are Linalyl acetate, linalol, and cis-b-ocimene. Unlike many other strains of lavender, it is safe to apply directly to the skin. Used mostly to treat sunburns and minor skin irritations, it also has calming and soothing properties that are helpful in treating anxiety. If you are pregnant, or suspect that you might be, consult a physician before starting a course of aromatherapy. Young boys should avoid lavender oil, as it can possibly cause disruption to a boy’s normal hormonal balance. Discontinue use for at least two weeks prior to having surgery, as lavender is known to slow the CNS in combination with other drugs or anesthesia. Certain sedatives interact adversely with lavender, such as chloral hydrate, barbiturates and benzodiazepines. If you use any of these classes of drugs, avoid using lavender essential oil while you are taking them.
