Petitgrain is one of three essential oils native to the orange tree (botanical name- Citrus Aurantium), the other two being Neroli and Bitter Orange. It is steam-distilled from the leaves and young twigs of the tree, whereas Neroli is extracted from the flowers, and Bitter Orange is typically cold pressed from the tough outer layers of the fruits.
Odor and Appearance : Petitgrain oil is mostly clear, with a hint of yellow. Its scent can be easily distinguished from its two sibling oils, Neroli and Bitter Orange.
