Spikenard essential oil is derived from the roots of the Nardostachys jatamansi plant, commonly known as Spikenard or Indian Nard. This perennial herb is native to the Himalayan region, particularly India and Nepal. The essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of the dried roots. Spikenard Essential Oil is known for its properties as an antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, deodorant, laxative, sedative, and uterine substance. In aromatherapy, this oil is employed for inducing mental peace, harmony, and truthfulness. The essential oil of spikenard is extracted by steam distillation of the resin obtained from this plant.
