Oil Summary:

Yuzu essential oil has a sweet and citrus-like aroma that is deeply grounding and can balance out the emotions. It is mostly used in aromatherapy to help reduce stress and anxiety, alleviating depression symptoms. Yuzu essential oil is also rich in vitamins and antioxidant properties that significantly boost the immune system. Yuzu is a citrus fruit in the Rutaceae family, native to China and popular in Japan and Korea. It is very similar to lemon or lime, and it is very fragrant. Some people use it in cooking for its juice and zest. Yuzu is more than fruit. Ancient Japanese farmers grew it for three purposes; medicinal, culinary, and hot bathing. In cooking, the juice from green yuzu was mixed with soy sauce to make ponzu sauce. Meanwhile, a hot bath filled with cut yuzu fruits was thought to bring good health and wealth. Furthermore, some believed that it would ward off ailments such as colds and flu and heal cracked skin.

Yuzu essential oil is versatile. It blends well with other essential oils, including lavender, grapefruit, jasmine, basil, neroli, and frankincense. It is also a perfect substitute for bergamot. Many people use it for personal fragrancing.
